PURPOSE:To realize accurate focusing by providing a false signal elimination means to eliminate at least a false signal component generated from a phase type optical low pass filter from a video signal obtained from an image pickup device to the title device and applying automatic focusing based on the video signal passing through the false signal elimination means. CONSTITUTION:A false signal elimination circuit 30 is provided between a video signal processing circuit 16 and an AF detection circuit 18. The false signal elimination circuit 30 is used to eliminate a frequency component including a false signal caused by a phase type optical low pass filter(OLPF) 10 from a frequency component of a video signal inputted from the video signal processing circuit 16, and consists of a trap filter to eliminate only the frequency component of the false signal and a band pass filter passing the prescribed frequency component not including the frequency component of the false signal or the like. Thus, no false signal component is included in the video signal passing through the false signal elimination circuit 30, the evaluation value is not set higher by a convex combined focus or a concave combined focus of the phase OLPF 10 and the evaluation is set higher only at a just focal point. |
