Gel (or gel-contg.) compsn. comprises 0.5-25 wt. pts. coronary-active nitroester (I), 55-90 wt. pts. oil base, and 5-40 wt. pts. finely-dispersed silica. The new feature is that 60-95, pref. 60-80 wt.% of the silica is hydrophilic and 5-40, pref. 20-40 wt.% hydrophobic. Pref. compsns. contain 1-10, esp. 2-5 wt.% (I), which may be in addn. to (I) in suspension or adsorbed on a solid carrier.
