<p>PURPOSE:To attain a stable tracking servomechanism in a reproducing state in which a tape is travelling at a speed in an integral multiple of a normal reproduction by generating tracking error signals based on tracking error generating signals which are read from plural recording heads. CONSTITUTION:Reproduced signals obtainable from recording heads 12, 13 at the time of reproduction are amplified through an amplifier circuit 35, and simultaneously by a switch 36 depending on a normal reproduction or N times faster reproduction, the output of a reproducing amplifier circuit 24 and the output of the amplifier circuit 35 are selectively led to an automatic track finding circuit 34. Accordingly, in the reproducing state in which the tape is travelling at a speed in the integral multiple of the normal reproduction, even if a tracking error generating signals recorded in a helical track are not read sufficiently by reproducing heads 14, 15, the tracking error generating signals may be sufficiently read by the plural recording heads 12, 13. Thus, a stable tracking servomechanism is performed and the accurate, highly reliable reproduction of data is attained.</p> |
