PURPOSE:To provide a highly accurate steering angle detecting device by employing two kinds of sensors for detecting a steering angle, that is, an absolute angle sensor and a relative angle sensor. CONSTITUTION:The rotating angle of a steering wheel 8 is detected by a front wheel steering angle sensor composed of a relative angle sensor ST1 and an absolute angle sensor ST2 so that the result of detection is thereby inputted into an electronic control system ECU. A sensor information switching means 1 outputs a steering angle from the absolute angle sensor when the steering neutral information of the relative angle sensor ST1 has not been affirmed yet, and when the steering neutral information of the relative angle sensor ST1 has been affirmed, outputting the steering angle from the relative angle sensor is kept on from this time on. A vehicle speed judging means 2 judges whether or not a vehicle is running at speeds lower than a specified one, and a rear wheel steering control means 3 controls rear wheels to be large or small in steering angle based on signals from the vehicle speed judging means 2. |
