PURPOSE:To develop piezoelectric ceramics having excellent characteristics by incorporating a special amount of special metal in a special ceramic main ingredient composition. CONSTITUTION:1.5wt.% or less of manganese in terms of MnO2 and 0.5wt.% or less of chromium in terms of Cr2O3 are contained in a main ingredient component represented by a formula Pb(1-x)Lax[(1-z)(ZryTi(1-y))+z{MgqZn(1-q))1/3 Nb2/3}](1-x/4)O3...[I] where 0<X<=0.07, 0.40<=y<=0.65, 0<=q<=1, 0<z<=0.40 of ceramic composition containing lead, lanthanum, zirconium, titanium, magnesium, zinc, niobium, manganese, chromium and oxygen atoms. Thus, piezoelectric ceramics having high piezoelectric distortion constant, low permittivity, low dielectric loss and high mechanical quality coefficient can be obtained. |
