PURPOSE:To specify the automobile running area automatically by extracting area data relating to a broadcasting station having a broadcasting frequency with which a tuner is tuned automatically. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is equipped with a memory means 13 to save respective area data relating to a plurality of broadcasting stations corresponding to the broadcasting frequency of each broadcasting station and a computing control means 12 which extracts the area data relating to a broadcasting station having the broadcasting frequency with which a tuner is tuned automatically and specifies the area data of the area where the automobile runs at the moment based on the extraction results. The computing control means 12 which carries out turning while receiving the broadcasting radio wave of an area the tuner 10 is able to receive extracts the area data of the broadcasting station corresponding to the broadcasting frequency by comparing the broadcasting frequency at the time of tuning to the area data in the memory means 13. Then, various kinds of area data relating to the area where the automobile runs at the moment are specified from the extraction results. Consequently, without specifying the area by a crew at all, the automobile running area, the broadcasting station name, etc. can be specified automatically. |
