PURPOSE:To contrive the simplification of the structure of a light-emitting element and the cost reduction of the element by a method wherein when a chip for the light-emitting element is integrally molded with a resin, a concave part is formed, a reflection layer is formed on the concave part and the center of the bottom of a fixing groove for an optical fiber is made to coincide with the condensing point of a concave mirror consisting of the concave part and the reflection layer. CONSTITUTION:A light-emitting diode 3 mounted on a frame 2 is molded with a transparent resin 4 and is integrally molded into an elliptical globularity to form a light-emitting element 1. Then, a concave part 4a is formed on the side of a luminescent surface 3a of the diode 3 and moreover, a reflection layer 8 is formed on the surface of the part 4a to constitute a concave mirror. A fixing groove 9, which is positioned on the same optical axis L as that of the diode 3 and in which the tip part of an optical fiber F is inserted and fixed, is formed at a second focal point B in the molding resin 4. diffused light emitted from the surface 3a is reflected and converged by a reflective surface 8a and is made to condense in the center of a bottom 9a of the groove 9. |
