PURPOSE:To start self-diagnosis by executing diagnosis in the command level only in a device by a diagnostic program execution part and starting more detailed diagnosis in the circuit level in accordance with the diagnosis result. CONSTITUTION:A peripheral control part 3 receives a command from a diagnos tic program execution part 2 to operate a peripheral device part 5 based on contents of the command and returns information, which indicates whether the result of this operation is normal or not, to the diagnostic program execution part 2 through a data bus 6-2. If diagnosis in the command level results in abnormal end, the diagnostic program execution part 2 discriminates the abnor mal circuit position based on information of abnormality and instructs diagnosis of this position in the circuit level to the peripheral control part 3 through the data bus 6-2 and a signal bus 8-2. Thus, it is unnecessary to always execute diagnosis in the circuit level, and this device is effective to save time. |
