The device includes a multiplexer linked to several channels (1a-1n), an analog/digital converter, a microprocessor and a standard random-access memory (5) associated with the microprocessor (4). The memory includes an area (5b) organized as a channel-selection area. In this area are stored channel codes corresponding to the various channels (1a-1n) to be scanned. When a signal originating from an analog channel is converted, the result of the conversion is read into a register (8) whilst the code of the channel having to be scanned next is transmitted from the channel-selection area (5b) to a buffer memory (10) monitoring the multiplexer (2). <IMAGE>
