Sealing joint for a sliding window (5) in a vehicle, comprising an element (1) for attachment on the groove (2) of the bodywork and a sealing element (3) consisting of an internal part (3a) containing an insert (12) and an external part (3b), characterised in that said external part (3b) comprises a deformable tubular member (6) extended by a T-sectioned member (7) which is provided with a lip (8, 9, 10) at the end of each of its arms and with an internal insert (11) and which tilts under the action of the window about an axis coinciding with a generatrix of the outer wall of said tubular member (6) situated between the two inserts (11, 12) in order to trap the top edge of the window between said internal (3a) and external (3b) parts.
