NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula or its salt. USE:A phospholipase A2 inhibitor useful for the prevention and remedy of various diseases caused by the enzymatic activity of phospholipase A2. PREPARATION:A microbial strain belonging to genus Thielavia and capable of producing the compound of formula I, e.g. Thielavia terricola RF-143 strain (FERM BP-2196) or its mutant is cultured under aerobic condition in a liquid and the compound of formula I is separated from the culture liquid.
