PURPOSE:To obtain in an industrially advantageous way the title high-purity L-tryptophan by contact, in advance, of pyridoxal-phosphate with a specific enzymatic source to effect activation of said source and by using this source for the continuous reaction of a substrate with no further addition of pyridoxal- phosphate. CONSTITUTION:Pyridoxal-phosphate as coenzyme is brought, in advance, into contact pref. at 5-15 deg.C with an enzymatic source with tryptophan synthase or tryptophanase as the main active ingredient to effect activation of said source, and pref. within 1 to 3hr, a substrate (a solution containing indole etc.) is continuously added to the system to carry out continuous reaction with no further addition of pyridoxal-phosphate followed by purification, thus obtaining the objective L-tryptophan. |
