PURPOSE:To enhance the welding workability and to obtain a welded part of high quality for a rotating shaft of a rotary electric machine by machining the end of the shaft in a groove shape tapered in I shape, butting the groove with a thrust collar fixedly and then welding them with an electron beam, thereby reducing the number of steps of working. CONSTITUTION:The end of a rotating shaft 1 is machined at the surface to be bonded in a groove shape tapered in I shape. A thrust collar 2 is similarly machined at the surface 5 to be bonded similarly in a tapered shape. After both the surfaces 4 and 5 to be bonded of the shaft 1 and the collar 2 are butted and contacted intimately, an electron beam 6 is projected horizontally with respect to the surfaces to be bonded to weld them fixedly. Thus, the butting work can be facilitated, and the quality of the welded part can be improved. |
