A device for controlling a windscreen wiper comprises an electric motor whose shaft is rotatably connected to a shaft 7 controlling the windscreen wiper through a reduction gear comprising an endless screw 4 and a toothed wheel 5. Toothed wheel 5 has a permanent magnet 14 which intercepts two Hall effect sensors 15, 16 in positions corresponding to the two end positions of the angular travel of the windscreen wiper.
