<p>PURPOSE:To process information without increasing the number of buses nor using a high-speed memory even if the amount of the information is large by separating an image memory horizontally into an area for odd-numbered lines and an area for even-numbered lines and storing pieces of odd-and even-line information on a brightness component and components Cr and Cb of a color difference component. CONSTITUTION:Image data is represented with the brightness component and digital signals of color difference components Cr and Cb which are 1/n-sampled horizontally and vertically and the image memory is provided while separated horizontally into parts 41-43 for the odd-numbered lines and parts 31-33 for the even--numbered lines. The image memories 41-43 for odd-numbered lines store the brightness component information for odd-numbered lines and the Cr component in the color difference component as picture element information, and the image memories 31-33 for even-numbered lines store the brightness component information for even-numbered lines and the Cb component in the color difference component as picture element information. When they are transferred, the picture element information on the odd lines and the picture element information on the even lines are transferred alternately in (n)-picture-element units. Consequently, even when the amount of information to be displayed is large, the number of buses need not be increased and no fast memory is used.</p> |
