1. A method of extinguishing fire in buildings with inert gases characterised in that a solution of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and steam is pumped into the building on fire and at the same time hot fire gases are removed from there and convective air inflows to the said building are blocked with shields.2. A fire extinguishing apparatus comprising a segmental automotive vehicle (1) and (2) on which an inert gases generator (3), start-up and remote control installations (4), fuel (5) and water (6) supply systems are installed, characterised in that the vehicle (2) is equipped with a system of sliding and extending carrying elements (7) with a gas culvert (8) installed on its end and equipped with a regulating shield (9), where the said culvert is connected by means of flexible gas ducts (10) with pipe segments (11) and with an evaporator (12), from which a pipe (13) leads to a sewage tank (14) equipped with pump (15) with hot water pipes (16).<IMAGE>
