Supporting board, esp. for mfg. concrete prods. - made from thermoplastic scrap, by plastification and extrusion or moulding

Supporting board (I) is claimed, for the prodn. of concrete prods., e.g. composite stone (I) is produced from thermoplastic scrap (II) by plastification and extrusion or moulding. Pref. (II) contains a high proportion of polyolefins, esp. 70-90 wt.% polyolefin, 0-15 wt.% polystyrene, 0-10 wt.% PVC and residual amts. of other plastics and impurities. The board material is mixed with powdered material, pref. chalk or ash, or with loose or coherent fibrous material, pref. glass, wood, textile and/or plastic fibre, esp. in the form of woven or knitted fabric or mat. Reinforcing tubes or bars are embedded in (I), at least at the edges, or the long edges of (I) are provided with reinforcing bars which are pref. no thicker than the board. These bars have a C-shaped section, with hook-shaped extensions sealed in the body of the board. Stacking bases are formed on the bottom and/or the top of (I). USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is made of recycled plastics and is no more expensive than conventional wooden boards. The board has a high load-bearing capacity and retains a smooth, maintenance-free, wear-resistant surface.
