PURPOSE:To decreases a gas leakage space and to improve the strength of a sewn part by making the sewing pitches of a plurality of sewn parts equal to each other and forming the stitches of the adjoining sewn parts alternately in a displaced position when a plurality of the sewn parts of an air bag body are formed in a parallel state. CONSTITUTION:An air bag body 13 of an air bag device is formed such that base cloths 14 and 15 are sewn together by means of two machine sewing threads in a state that a sewing margin 16 is left as it is, and sewn parts 21 and 22 are formed in a parallel state with a distance of approximate 2mm therebetween. In which case, sewing pitches P2 of the sewn parts 21 and 22 are set to approximate 2mm equal to each other and set so that stitches 24 and 25 of the adjoining sewn parts 21 and 22 are displaced from each other by 1/2 pitch, namely, the stitches are formed, as seen from a lateral direction, at intervals of a distance of 1mm. This constitution reduces a linearly extending- through gas leakage space without sharply reducing a sewing pitch and improves the strength of the sewn part. |
