PURPOSE:To obtain a handset for telephone set which is suitable for miniaturization, excellent in S/N characteristic at its transmitting section, and less in fault by allowing a cover to come off the handset main body when the cover comes to a position beyond a prescribed angular extent against the handset main body. CONSTITUTION:A cover 14 which covers at least a switch section 8 when the cover 14 is closed and functions as a sound reflecting and concentrating plate against a transmitting section 10 when the cover 14 is opened is provided near the lower end of a handset main body 2. A cover holding mechanism 16 holds the cover 14 so that the cover 14 can be rotated in a prescribed angular extent against the handset main body 2. Since the cover easily comes off the handset main body 2 when the cover 14 is opened beyond the angular extent, breakage of the cover 14, etc., can be prevented even when a load is applied to the handset when the hand set is placed on the flat surface of a desk, etc., with the cover 14 opened and switch section downward. |
