PURPOSE:To make a tube screen display with an optional character font, etc., at user's need by supplying a tube screen display signal to a television image receiver main body. CONSTITUTION:The adapter device 26 for tube screen display is connected to a television receiver 100 and the control signal from a remote controller 25 is supplied to the CPU 33 of the device 26. The CPU 33 supplies a tube screen display control signal for displaying a selection menu where operation equipment is selected to a character ROM 35. The ROM 35 supplies a display signal to the CRT 17 of the image receiver 100 as signals of red, green, and blue and the selection menu is displayed on the CRT 17. Then, a user moves the cursor 51 of the remote controller 25 to display selectable channels on the image receiver 100. For example, a signal which specifies a 1st channel is sent from the remote controller 25 and '1CHANNEL' is displayed in a spe cific area. In this case, a blank or half-blank can be selected for the background of the area 52. |
