PURPOSE:To control radius of curvature of a high precision lens by reciprocally moving a lens material cutting tool in the approaching and in the separating directions against a lens material by a specific amount in accordance with a revolving angle of a cutting bite synchronizing with a turning angle of the lens material. CONSTITUTION:A cutting bite 54 supported by a bite support base 48 of a reciprocating motion execution part 12 is revolved around a revolution center 42 while it is being made contact with a lens material 26 simultaneously when the lens material 26 supported by a rotary shaft 16 of a turning motion execution part 10 is turned around a turning center 14. Accordingly, it is possible to cut all over the recessed surface part of the lens material 26 by the cutting bite 54. Additionally, the cutting bite 54 is moved in the approaching and the separating directions against the lens material 26 so that the head point of the cutting bite 54 can move on an orbit along the shape of a lens at the time of cutting process. Consequently, it is possible to cut and form the lens with a purported curved surface shape with high precision. |
