PURPOSE:To avoid concentration of external force at an intercrossing part of an optical fiber unit by containing the marginal connecting part of the optical fiber unit along the outer circumference of a power cable core, burying the intercrossing part thereof into an elastic material and securing in place, and then burying the entire marginal connecting part into a flexible and elastic filler layer. CONSTITUTION:Since the sagging parts of optical fiber units 8 have uneven marginal connecting length, intercrossing of the optical fiber units 8 is inevitable. The intercrossing parts are buried in an applied elastic material 15 and secured in place. A filler layer 16 thicker than the elastic material 15 is formed entirely on the outer circumferential face of the retaining winding of a cotton tape 14. A sheath 17 is formed through molding of polyethylene on the outer circumference of the filler layer 16. |
