发明名称 PRODUCTION OF WHISKER-REINFORCED CERAMIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the title composite material having excellent high density structure also in ordinary pressure sintering by previously subjecting reinforcing material whisker and ceramic precursor powder to casting utilizing electrophoresis and then sintering the formed article. CONSTITUTION:A dispersant (e.g. polycarboxylic acid type high polymer surfactant) is attached to ceramic precursor powder (e.g. Al2O3 powder) and reinforcing material whisker (e.g. SiC whisker) and electrophoresis characteristics of both raw material ingredients are controlled in equivalent direction and equivalent speed and the both ingredients are subjected to electrophoresis casting to form a formed article, which is then heated to remove the dispersant and the formed article is subjected to ordinary pressure sintering at >=1500 deg.C to produce the whisker-reinforced ceramic composite material. According to the above-mentioned method, the whisker-reinforced ceramic composite material having excellent composite characteristics is obtained in simple ordinary pressure sintering.
