<p>Tricyclic oxepine and thiepin derivs. of formula (I) are new: In (I) X is an oxo gp. or 2 H atoms; Y is CH or N; A is O or S; R is OH, NH2 or 1-5C alkoxy. (I) are anti-inflammatory agents, many with higher activity than indomethacin. A typical cpd. is 2-(10,11-dihydro-11-oxodibenzo b,f thiepin-2-yl)propionamide. In an example, this is prepd. from 2- 4-(1-cyanoethyl)-phenylthio phenylaceticacid.</p> |
