PURPOSE:To improve weatherability by coating the boundary between a substrate and a thin film and the boundary between the thin films with a sealant consisting of glass. CONSTITUTION:A diffusion preventive film layer 2 prevents the diffusion of the alkaline earth metal in the tempered glass substrate 1 which exerts adverse influence in terms of corrosion resistance. The medium has a groove layer 3 provided with bits carrying information, a reflecting film 4, a protective film 5, and the sealant. The boundary between the tempered glass substrate 1 and the thin film and the boundary between the thin films are coated with the sealant 6 consisting of the glass in such a manner, by which the infiltration of water into the boundary between the tempered glass substrate 1 and the thin film and the boundary between the thin films is prevented and the weatherability is improved. |
