A system for evaluating data for coin-operated machines contains an operating data memory, a data output interface, a portable temporary storage device for the output data, an input/output or I/O device for data communications, a remote data processor with an interface for the I/O of equipment data and an I/O unit for the data in the temporary storage device. A portable controller (6) contains the temporary storage unit and a memory for setting up, control and instruction data and codes for the coin-operated machine (2). The I/O unit in the machine contains a call-up device contg. a predefined code data set for reading in and processing data from the portable controller memory. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple to operate, e.g. for gaming or fruit machine.
