Equipment for sinking shafts - uses widening tool fixed to supporting and guiding tube which is inserted in pilot hole

The equipment is used for sinking shafts for mines. A hole is first drilled and subsequently enlarged to the required cross-sectional size by a widening machine. A bearer and guide tube (2) is inserted into the pilot hole, and to this the widening tool (5) is attached, and this can move up and down to carry out the widening process. The guide tube (2) is braced against the shaft sides (18) by expandable trench props (17) where the widening process has been carried out. Muck arising is removed by a conveyor worm in the guide tube (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - A reliable location and guiding of the widening tool is achieved without anchoring it to the shaft sides.
