PURPOSE:To facilitate assembly, and thereby separately replace a single cell if it fails by laminating plural single cells so as to form an unit block, and thereby connecting the gas passages for oxidant gas or fuel gas between the respective unit blocks to each other via connecting pipes. CONSTITUTION:Unit blocks 3 each of which is formed in such a way that plural single cells 2 (several cells through ten-odd cells) are interchangeably laminated while being faced to the same direction so as to be crossed. And the gas passages among the respective unit blocks 3 are connected to one another with expansion joints 14. By this constitution, workability for assembly can thereby be enhanced to a great extent, even if there exist displacement and dispersion in space between the respective unit blocks 3 at the time of assembly, and contraction and the like among the respective single cells during operations, in response to which, the free expansion joints are expanded and/or contracted, the respective gas passages can thereby be positively connected to one another. |
