PURPOSE:To increase thermal efficiency, and to improve cooking ability, as well as not to spoil convenience for cleaning in a cooker, by providing a gas table which has a tubular or a reversely U-shaped passage around a top plate, and by making combustion exhaust gas coming out of exhaust opening provided on the edge of a top plate flow to the center part of a gas table. CONSTITUTION:Mixed gas of fuel and air passing through a mixing pipe 9, is burned on a burner 1 for red-heating. Combustion exhaust gas, passing through an exhaust gas passage 3 and an exhaust gas opening 5 provided on the edge of a top plate, is led to the center part of a gas table 7 through a gas passage provided in the gas table 7. The gas is supplied to the bottom of a cooking pan 8 in order to heat a material to be cooked in the pan. The gas table is heated by combustion exhaust gas while the gas is passing through the passages in the gas table 7, and the heat of gas is transferred to the bottom of a pan contacting the gas table by the heat transferring effect between them. While flames burning on the burner 1 for red-heating changes the burner surface into a radiating body, radiant heat permeating through the top plate made of permeating material heats the bottom of a cooking pan. Since a heating operation take place in all modes, heat transfer, convection, and radiation, extremely highly thermal efficiency can be obtained in a cooker.
