The invention relates to cyclic hexapeptides of the general formula I and cyclic dimeric hexapeptides of the general formula II in which R = Thr or Val; S = Lys or Orn; T = Trp; U = Phe or Phe(p-NHZ); V = D-Pro or D-Ala; W = Phe or Phe(p-NHZ); X = H, Z, COC6H5 or COC6H4(p-N3); and Y = CO(CH2)nCO or CO-O-(CH2-CH2-O)m-CO. A process for preparing these compounds and their use are described.
