<p>Hydrophilic catalyst soln. (I) for improved combustion of (hydro)carbonaceous materials e.g. oils and gases and/or solid fuels and/or the removal of carbon black and tar deposits on surfaces of combustion chambers, in which (I) contains lanthanide cpds.. The novelty is that the lanthanide cpds. are in their higher oxidn. state, (I) also contains cpds. from the iron gp. and opt. complexing agents for the selected metal ions, and the pH of (I) is at least 7. The lanthanide is Ce(4+) and the cpd. from the iron gp. contg. Fe(3+), and the wt. ratio of Ce(4+) and Fe(3+) ions is 1:20-20:1. The complexing agent is selected from citric acid, hydroxyethylenediaminetriacetic acid, ethylene-diamine tetraacetic acid, nitrile triacetic acid or gluconic acid. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is used to coat solid fuels, oxidn. catalysts and/or soot filters (claimed). It is non-poisonous and is a highly active catalyst soln. for the combustion of soot and tar with oxygen at the lowest possible temps..</p> |
