NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic mureidomycin A having the following physicochemical properties. Properties of the substance, amphoteric and water-soluble white powder; specific rotation, [alpha]D<25>=+40.9 deg. (C=0.69, 50% methanol aqueous solution); elemental analysis (%), C 49.73, H 5.65, N 12.08, S 3.40; molecular weight, 840 (FAB-MASS); molecular formula, C38H48N8O12S1; acid hydrolysis, uracil, m-tyrosine, 2-amino-3-methylaminolactic acid; solubility, soluble in water and methanol, slightly soluble in acetone and insoluble in ethyl acetate, benzene, etc.; color reaction, positive to ninhydrin, etc. USE:An antibacterium agent against Gram-negative bacterium, especially the genus Pseudomonas bacterium. PREPARATION:The aimed antibiotic is obtained by cultivating a bacterium strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces flavidovirens SANK 60486 (FERM P-8636), etc. |
