PURPOSE:To apply a printing method by using a material which is larger in hardness for at least one of colors of plural color areas, and forming the remaining color areas and then smoothing all the color areas by polishing. CONSTITUTION:On a light transmissive substrate, a black matrix 2 is formed of an ink material which consists principally of glass powder and carbon powder and contains a binder and a high-boiling-point solvent by using a screen printer. Then baking is carried out in an oven to obtain a black matrix layer which has large hardness. Then the primary color areas 3R, 3G, and 3B are formed in order by the printing method. The surfaces are polished directly to remove dust and foreign matter, and thus smoothed. Acrylic resin 4 for cementing is applied thereupon and after epoxy resin is applied to form an overcoat layer 5, a transparent electrode 6 is formed. Consequently, all color elements can easily be formed by the printing method, the manufacture is easy, and the productivity is improved. |
