PURPOSE:To correctly record information on an optical disk by using the light source of low light output by deciding the pattern of the information by a pattern discrimination circuit, and generating a signal to control light on the basis of time data stored in a time data generating part, and changing the control starting point of time or the control finishing point of time of the light in relation to the pattern of the information. CONSTITUTION:The latch data of a latch circuit 10 is supplied to the pattern discrimination circuit 11 and a laser drive signal generation circuit 13, and the pattern decision circuit 11 discriminates the pattern of recording data WD. The time data generating part 12 stores beforehand the time data corresponding to the pattern of the recording data WD, and outputs the time data corresponding to the pattern of the recording data given from the pattern discrimination circuit 11 to the laser drive signal generation circuit 13. Accordingly, it generates a laser drive signal in which the leading edge of the pulse of the given recording data is changed in accordance with the time data given by the time data generating part 12. Thus, the information can correctly be recorded on the optical disk by using the inexpensive light source of the low light output. |
