PURPOSE:To increase the coefft. of thermal expansion and to improve wear resistance, mechanical strength and workability by incorporating TiO2 and a specified metal oxide into a base consisting of MgO and Ni. CONSTITUTION:A blend of 100 pts.wt. base consisting of 20-80mol% MgO and 80-20mol% Ni with 0.1-5 pts.wt. TiO2 and 0.1-10 pts.wt. at lest one kind of metal oxide selected among Pr6O11, Tm2O3, Yb2O3 and Lu2O3 is calcined, pulverized, granulated, molded, sintered and subjected to hot isostatic pressing to obtain nonmagnetic ceramics for a magnetic head having >=130X10<-7>/ deg.C coefft. of thermal expansion. |
