<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the initial frictional coefficient without using an asbestos base material, and to transmit stable rotation by sticking melamine resin onto the surface of a friction member composed of a fibrous base material, a friction adjusting agent and a binder. CONSTITUTION:Melamine resin is stuck to the surface of a friction member composed of a fibrous base material, a friction adjusting agent and a binder so as to form a clutch facing. The melamine resin stuck to the surface of the friction member is selected from a group consisting of methylated melamine resin, benzo-guanamine resin, methyl-guanamine, and etherized melamine thereof. Preferably, a varnish of etherized melamine resin is applied on the surface of the friction member. There are no limitations to the application and the drying thereof and as well to the hardening condition. The quantity of the melamine resin stuck to the surface is set preferably to about 0.003 to 0.06g per unit area. With this arrangement, the clutch facing has a frictional coefficient which is higher than that of a conventional clutch facing, even at an initial period, thereby it is possible to transmit stable rotation.</p> |
