Nappy of the type which comprises a casing formed by a permeable layer which is applied to the body of the user and an opposite, impermeable layer, characterized in that flexible strips 7 are joined to the permeable layer 1, which strips are folded on themselves along a longitudinal folding line and are joined to the said permeable layer by means of the longitudinal edges of the actual strips which are folded in the form of turned edges 7a. Inside these strips there are pre-stretched elastic threads 8. The ends of the strips 7 are joined to the layer 1 by means of the turned edges 7a and lines of an adhesive substance or welding.
