PURPOSE:To preserve a data even during power interruption without remodeling or revamping an existing information processing unit main body by connecting a MODEM and the information processing unit main body so as to make connection of an internal bus of the main body and an expanded bus of the MODEM via an expansion means. CONSTITUTION:An expansion bus 21 of a MODEM 20 provided with a MODEM circuit 22, an NCU 23, a battery backup RAM 24 and a battery 25 is connected to an internal bus 11 of a game machine main body 10 via an expansion connector 26 at the MODEM and an expansion connector 17 of the main body. A user-made program and data, a game program and an animation data or the like obtained from a communication network are stored in the RAM 24. When a power of a home use game machine 1 is interrupted, the RAM 24 is backed up by the battery 25 and the information stored therein is preserved without change. |
