Recyclable thermoplastic cans or wide-necked containers are described which have an ecologically optimised design by considering the stability and contents protection functions separately and in such a way that material usage is minimised. Container walls are as thin as possible and stability is assured by an external, separate girdle. The girdle is mfd. in a recyclable thermoplastic with a higher mod. than the container material and has the form of fibres, film or a combination of them. USE/ADVANTAGE - The containers can be used for fluids or powders and can be recycled at low cost with little material waste.
