The invention relates to a pressing station for foil blanks to be applied around the neck and the top of bottles. The pressing station consists of a transport star (7) with receiving places (8) arranged on its periphery for the bottles (2), and of a support (13) arranged above the star, with pressure elements (14, 15) arranged on its periphery. Of the respectively circular paths of the receiving places (8) and of the pressure elements (14, 15), that of the pressure elements (14, 15) is smaller in diameter and arranged inclined in relation to the receiving places (8) in such a manner that the lifting movement of the pressure elements (14, 15), which is necessary for the pressing process, results directly from the inclined circular path.
