The appts. to apply a false twist, for texturising yarns of synthetic and other thermoplastic materials, has a heater where the yarn passes through without a twist. The yarn is twisted immediately it leaves the heated surface, by a false twisting assembly, and is fixed in a false twisted condition by cooling. ADVANTAGE - The assembly gives a smaller machine size, and reduces the length of the yarn path through the false twisting and texturising process. The yarn is fed into the machine where it passes one or more times round a heated roller assembly, to be brought to the required temp.. The yarn can be drawn between the initial feed and heating. On leaving the heated rollers, the yarn is false twisted to be taken out and wound.
