The current rail system uses current rail sections (10) each comprising a support housing (12) containing an insulating profile (14) incorporating the electrical conductors (16), contacted via inserted adapters (108). The housing (12) is terminated at each end by an end cap, the end caps of different current rail sections coupled together via hollow, flexible coupling elements enclosing the cables which are used to couple the inserted adapters together electrically. At least two flexible coupling elements extend axially from each end cap. ADVANTAGE - Allows high flexibility of current rail layout.
