PURPOSE:To prevent the excess rotation of a photosnsitive body based on the variance of the length of a paper carrying path by starting the rotation of the photosensitive body based on a detection signal from a detection means for detecting that the leading edge of a transfer material arrives at any position of the carrying path obtained by joining the paths to be one. CONSTITUTION:The paper supplying and carrying paths which lead to a transfer position from plural transfer material supply trays 43 or cassettes 41, 42 and 42' are constituted so that they may be joined to one carrying path 47 halfway, and the rotation of the photosensitive body 11 is controlled independently of the driving of a transfer material carrying system. Then, the detection means 91 for detecting that the leading edge of the supplied transfer material arrives at any position of the carrying path 47 obtained by joining the paths to be one is provided, and the rotation of the photosensitive body 11 is started based on the detection signal from the detection means 91. Even when the variance is found in the lengths of the paper carrying paths which lead to the transfer position from the respective trays 43 or the cassettes 41, 42 and 42', the excess rotation of the photosensitive body 11 based on the variance thereof is prevented. |
