<p>PURPOSE:To improve the operability by loading a standard tape cassette into the device only by inserting it into a cassette inserting hole and inserting a small size tape cassette into the cassette inserting hole after pressing a tape cassette selecting button when the small size tape cassette is used. CONSTITUTION:The standard tape cassette 89 is inserted into a standard tape cassette holder 7 from the cassette inserting hole 3. When it is detected by a detecting means that the cassette 89 is inserted into a prescribed position, a driving motor 33 is rotated, and hence a cam gear 30 is driven to rotate clockwise. A groove cam part and a slide lever 24 engaged with a cam follower 28 are slid to move in the right direction. The cassette holder 7 meshed with a pinion gear 17 by a rack part 15 is guided by guide grooves 8 and 9 to move in the right direction.
