PURPOSE:To improve the explosion resistance of castable refractories without increasing the amt. of water to be added or deteriorating the corrosion resistance by adding a proper amt. of rayon fibers to the refractories. CONSTITUTION:Rayon fibers having >=5wt.% water content under the conditions of 20 deg.C and 20% relative humidity are added to castable refractories by 0.05-0.5wt.%. Though the rayon fibers are not required to satisfy other necessary conditions, rayon fibers having 1 denier diameter and about 3-5mm length are preferably added so as to improve the dispersibility in the refractory material and the explosion resistance of the castable refractories. |
