It comprises a plurality of bars 1 equipped with clamps 2 for securing the material 3, which bars are connected to endless entrainment means 4 which can be displaced intermittently by actuating means, in such a manner that the material 3 to be worked is displaced, entrained by the bars 1, between a moveable matrix and a fixed matrix which act on the material 3, the aforesaid mechanism also comprising means 9 for lateral guiding of the bars 1 in the machine, and it is characterized in that each one of the bars 1 is formed by fibres 6 arranged longitudinally in the bar 1 and joined together by means of an adherent product. It also comprises front guide means 5. It makes it possible to improve the guiding of the material 3 and to increase the work rate. <IMAGE>
