It consists of a shutoff valve (1) with a small manoeuvring path, mounted on the trajectory of the oxygen tube (2) of the torch, between the flow adjustment valve (3) of the handle (grip) (4) and the burner (5), and having two extreme positions, one permitting the passage of the oxygen flow, as adjusted, the other allowing the passage of only that fraction of the flow which is just necessary to sustain the flame. It is intended for metallurgical or construction industries and work sites where metallic elements are cut with the aid of oxygen cutting torches, and also permits both the modification of existing torches and the fitting-out of new apparatuses. <IMAGE>
