PURPOSE:To improve lubricity, durability and corrosion resistance by forming a lubricating layer tightly packed with fluorine atoms on the surface of the magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating layer consisting of the compd. expressed by formula I is formed on the surface of the magnetic recording medium. In the formula I, Rf1 and Rf2 denote 3 to 80C perfluoroalkyl group or perfluoropolyether group. R1 and R2 denote 2 to 15C hydrocarbon group which may contain double bonds, triple bonds or ether chain in the arbitrary position thereof; R3 denotes 1 to 15C hydrocarbon group which may contain double bonds, triple bonds or ether chain in the arbitrary position thereof. X1 and X2 denote a C=O, OCO or NHCO group; Y denotes a C=O, OCO, NHCO or CH2CO group; Z denotes a hydrophilic group; m=0 or 1, p=0 or 1, n=1 or 2. The lubricity and durability are improved in this way. |
