<p>A multilayered capacitor (10) has a dielectric block (12) with a marked position where the adjustable capacitance is to be placed. The capacitor has two end walls (18, 20) on which are first and second terminal electrodes (26, 28). The electrodes have first and second narrow bands (32, 33) extending over marginal end portions of first and second side walls (14, 16) of the block (12). Two narrow spaced conductive stripes (34) on the first side wall terminate short of the second band (33) to define a first rectangular U-shaped extension of the first terminal electrode (26) on the first side wall (14). In the block (12) are embedded spaced electrodes (52, 54) to determine the capacitance of the capacitor. A first stripe (38) of conductive ink of any desired width can be applied to an uncovered area of the first wall (14) to contact the U-shaped extension of the first terminal electrode (26) to adjust capacitance of the capacitor. Two other conductive stripes (36) applied to the second sidewall (16) to extend from the second band (33) and terminate short of the first band to define a second U-shaped extension of the second terminal electrode. A second stripe (42) of conductive ink can be applied to an uncovered area of the second wall (16) to contact the second U-shaped electrode extension to further adjust the capacitance of the capacitor.</p> |
