<p>A bitumen composition containing 3 to 25 wt.% of a highly aromatic cracked petroleum product having a specific gravity from 0.92 to 1.06 at 15 DEG C, an atmospheric boiling range lying within 180 to 370 DEG C and a kinematic viscosity from 0.5 to 5 cSt at 100 DEG C. The composition also preferably contains 2 to 15 wt.% of a copolymer consisting essentially of ethylene and a comonomer selected from vinyl acetate, alkyl acetate or alkyl methacrylate. The presence of the highly cracked petroleum product improves the low temperature elongation properties of the bitumen composition.</p> |
